Die Kapweihe (Circus maurus), früher auch Mohrenweihe genannt, ist ein Greifvogel aus der Familie der Habichtartigen (Accipitridae). Charakteristisch für diese mittelgroße Weihe ist die bei Männchen und Weibchen einheitliche, schwarz-weiße Gefiederzeichnung. Die Brutgebiete der Kapweihe beschränken sich auf die südlichen zwei Drittel Südafrikas, Lesotho, den äußersten Süden Botswanas und Namibias sowie eine kleinere Exklave an der nördlichen namibischen Küste. Sie bewohnt sowohl trockenes, baumarmes Fynbos-Hochland als auch weiträumige Feuchtgebiete. Die Kapweihe macht vor allem auf kleine Mäuseartige und Wachteln…
