## Summary

Die Brandgans (Tadorna tadorna) ist eine Art aus der Familie der Entenvögel, die zur Tribus der Halbgänse (Tadornini) gehört. Halbgänse ähneln in ihrem Habitus Gänsen, sie haben jedoch auch Merkmale, wie sie für Eigentliche Enten charakteristisch sind. Vor allem in älterer Literatur findet man daher für diese Art die Bezeichnung Brandente.
Die Brandgans kommt in zwei voneinander getrennten Populationen vor, die etwas unterschiedliche Lebensräume nutzen. In Europa ist die Brandgans eine Art, die sich vor allem an der Küste aufhält. Die asiatische Population lebt überwiegend an salzigen und brackigen Steppengewässern…
