## Summary

Der Europäische Laubfrosch (Hyla arborea) ist ein Froschlurch, der zur Familie der Laubfrösche im weiteren Sinne (Hylidae) und zur Gattung der Laubfrösche (Hyla) gehört.
Er ist der einzige mitteleuropäische Vertreter einer nahezu weltweit (allerdings schwerpunktmäßig neuweltlich) verbreiteten Tierfamilie, die mit über 1000 Arten zu den formenreichsten innerhalb der Amphibien zählt. Für das Jahr 2008 wurde der Europäische Laubfrosch von der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Herpetologie und Terrarienkunde (DGHT) zum Lurch des Jahres gewählt.
