Der Nördliche Weißbrustigel oder Osteuropäische Igel ist eine Art aus der Gattung der Kleinohrigel. Neben dem Braunbrustigel ist er die zweite auch in Mitteleuropa lebende Igelart. Im Deutschen wird das Tier zusammen mit dem Südlichen Weißbrustigel üblicherweise nur Weißbrustigel oder Ostigel genannt.
