## Summary

Die Wanderlibelle (Pantala flavescens) ist neben Pantala hymenaea die einzige Libellenart der Gattung Pantala aus der Unterfamilie Pantalinae. 1798 beschrieb Fabricius die Art erstmals. Sie gilt als die auf der gesamten Erde am weitesten verbreitete Libelle. 2019 wurde die Wanderlibelle zum ersten Mal in Deutschland sowie in der Schweiz nachgewiesen. Dieser Umstand wird mit den stattfindenden Klimaveränderungen in Verbindung gebracht und war auch Anlass zur Benennung dieser Art als „Libelle des Jahres 2021“.
