## Summary

The clouded tiger cat (Leopardus pardinoides) or clouded oncilla is a small spotted cat found in Central and South America, particularly in Andean montane cloud forests from 1,500 to 3,000 metres (4,900 to 9,800 ft) above sea level. It is one of three proposed tiger cat species, along with the oncilla, or the northern tiger cat (L. tigrinus), and the southern tiger cat (L. guttulus), with arguments put forward to elevate this population to the status of species after the publication of a 2024 study. The species is threatened by climate change and deforestation, and has experienced widespread habitat loss.
