> Animal Checklist sets no cookies, runs no tracking and asks for no personal data.

Animal Checklist sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking script. There is no account, no e-mail address and no password. The site loads no third-party script, font or pixel at runtime; every request goes to animalchecklist.com.

Your sightings live in the local storage of your browser. They stay on the device until you clear the site data.

When you tick the first animal, the browser asks the server for an anonymous sync code (AC-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). The server stores only a salted hash of that code plus your animal ids and dates. Nothing in that record points to you. Anyone who holds the code can read and change that list, so keep it private.

The server logs of the hosting provider (Cloudflare) hold the IP address, the requested URL and the user agent for a short time for security and error analysis. Unhandled errors are reported to the operator with the page URL and the error text, never with your sightings or your code.

You can delete your data at any time: clear the site data in your browser. To delete the server copy, send your sync code to the contact address and it is removed within 7 days.

Data controller under the GDPR: Arne Kellmann, Odenwaldstr. 134L, 64372 Ober-Ramstadt, Germany, animalchecklist@arnekellmann.de. You have the right to access, correct and erase your data and to complain to a supervisory authority.
